French rapper KIDDAM calls on people to get up for Gaza

KIDDAM, a french hip hop artist based in Paris, as if to respond to the global hip hop call for boycott of Israel, releases his new single “How many people are we” with strong message of solidarity with Gaza and the Palestinian people.

Pseudonim Kiddam is a reference to latin word “quidam” (from lat. – someone) and has emerged as an opposition to ego-centric self focused mainstream artists. Kiddam started to write his songs at the age 15 and is mostly voicing his criticism to right wing parties but also to French mainstream parties that draw many of their ideas from the former. Kiddam also expresses his outrage over discriminatory climate in France and limited freedom of speech. The new single is not an exception, as Kiddam criticises both the French prime minister and the president for their unshaken support for Israel and the bans imposed on pro-Palestinian supporters around France.

A German-Nigerian singer and songwriter Ayo is also featured in the song, precisely – the few lines of her song “How many people”.

How many people are we?

Ayo: How many people really speak their minds?
How many people really stand for something?
How many people go and follow blind?
How many people?…

Kiddam: Question of a guy on the planet
How many people are we to be outraged by the massacre
How many people
How many people are we to say no to these massacres
How many people are we to see that they expect their coronation
How many people are we to find the simulacrum
They talk about peace, but I see they simulate the act
Bombing targeted, pounding and killings
Guys like finkiel are not even shocked
Four kids on the beach shredded by a bombshell
Were they terrorists? they pay a heavy price
When you bomb a hospital, what are you looking for
With your gun, do you know that you pierce
Bodies of children, women’s bodies, bodies of men,
The Gaza strip is the latest arena of Rome
I don’t want your argument, none is serious
Must destocking ammunition to avoid bankruptcy
One day our dream will be real
Ask yourself why there is no event to support Israel

How many people are we to say no to the slaughter
How many people are we to seek dove
How many people are we to say fuck you to your position of attention
How many people are, get up! Get up! (x2)

It is useful to talk about the history
60 years extremist settlers in power
This is the first time that the UN condemns only with words
This is not a rodeo, they are families, not herd
Not eat-shit, not carnivores
Mr. Valls and Mr. Holland open your eyes, Gaza is filled with dead people
How can you support it?
It is not far from genocide and you forbid me to scream, it bothers me too
Whole world screams but you want to silence Paris
How can I be silent in the face of savagery
Peace and truth, I love madly
You are out of arguments, so it makes sense you lie
Those who say that we are anti-semitic remain decent
In the name of Christians, Jews, Muslims walking together
When will the internal revolt of the Israeli people?
The next person who holds the hand of Mr. Holland is pitiful

How many people are we to say no to the slaughter
How many people are we to seek dove
How many people are we to say fuck you to your position of attention
How many people are, get up! Get up! (x2)

French people! Get up! Get up!
Palestinian people! Get up! Get up!
Israeli people! Get up Get up!
Everywhere! Get up Get up!
Gaza, Rafah, Hebron, Jenin
Jericho, Ramallah, Bethlehem, Nablus and all cities
Palestine
In all its majesty
Oppressed people
For many years
Gaza, the France supports you
Paris with you

Ayo: How many people really stand for something?..
